Day 1: Tangier – Tetuan – Chefchaouen – Fes
Start of our Morocco Desert Tour from Tangier city. We’ll drive through the Rif Mountains and Tetuan City to enjoy the beautiful views of mountains. Then we get to Chefchaouan, one of the stunning villages in the feet of Rif mountains. Chefchaouen medina has a Spanish-style square surrounded by many funky arts and crafts stores, roof-top restaurants and cafes where you will have lunch. Before we continue our way to Fes where we will spend our first night.
Day 2: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Gorges – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga
On our second day tour. Drive to the south to Ifrane and Azrou across the middle of the Atlas mountains. On the way, we will stop at Ifrane & the Cedar Forest to see the Berber in their natural habitat. Traveling through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges. As you approach the city of Errachidia. After lunch, we’ll continue our desert journey to Ziz Valley, Erfoud, Rissani, and Merzouga. Then we take a camel ride to a Berber desert camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes which are the highest sand dunes in North Africa. The camel trek takes around 1hr 30 min from camel park to the camp where we will set up Berber tents for our night in the desert. After dinner, we will gather around the fire and enjoy the sound of traditional Berber drums under the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Today, we will wake up early to enjoy a magnificent sunrise on the Merzouga Sand Dunes. Then we take a camel ride back or 4WD Jeep. We’ll leave for Tinghir and the Todra Gorges and pass by many Berber villages. And finally, we arrive in the Dades Valley where we will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 4: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate- Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – High Atlas mountain – Marrakech
On our last Marrakech Desert Day Tour after breakfast, we’ll drive athrough the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The route across the Dades Valley, the Way of the Thousand Kasbahs, provides numerous photo opportunities. We’ll visit the Roses valley and Skoura village, Then continue to Ouarzazat, “the Hollywood of Africa”. Lunch is at the famous Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. After touring this UNESCO World Heritage site, our journey will continue through the majestic Tizi Tichka pass, reaching an altitude of 2260m, over the High Atlas Mountains. We will stop to enjoy the impressive views and visit the Argan Oil cooperative. We will arrive in Marrakech late afternoon where our Tangier to Marrakech 4 Days Merzouga desert trip ends.
